CREW Atlanta October 2021 Letter to Membership

October 14, 2021

Dear CREW Atlanta Members,

I just got back from the 2021 CREW Network Convention and am so inspired! Just like we are working on our mission of influencing the success of the commercial real estate industry by advancing the achievements of women – chapters globally are joined with us in making these changes for the better of our industry and for women in CRE, in particular.

At convention, CREW Network announced the launch of our CRE Pledge for Action, an industry-first, CEO-driven initiative to advance women, and elevate actions that encourage greater diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) in the commercial real estate industry. Seventeen CEOs have already committed to this industry-wide pledge. By signing on, these progressive business leaders are pledging to take action and hold themselves and their employees responsible for implementing initiatives that advance women and DEI. Please click the link above and consider taking a stand with us and signing the pledge.

CREW Network also released a groundbreaking industry research whitepaper, A Catalyst for Change: COVID-19’s Impact on Women in Commercial Real Estate, which examines the pandemic’s impact on women globally and in the industry, especially women of color. The findings highlight that the pre-pandemic workplace was not a fit for women in the workplace and provides an action guide for industry leaders to support and advance women as we recover from the pandemic.

I hope to see you at one of our many upcoming events: Women of Sweet Auburn Walking Tour and Happy Hour, one of our fabulous CREW Atlanta Dine Arounds, or our wine event, which will kick off our 40th Anniversary celebration. With so much going on in our chapter and with CREW Network, it is easy to see that 2021 really is our year!

All the best,

Greer Gallagher
President
