Dear CREW Atlanta Members,

In my last letter, I concluded with “let’s make 2021 our year,” and I have to say that the CREW Atlanta board, committees and membership have blown me away with all we have accomplished in just five months! Maybe it is that Summer is in the air, perhaps it is that we are starting to hold small-group in-person events, or maybe it is that we are all energized by the progress we are making on our strategic plan and our DEI initiatives, but I can feel the energy of our chapter teeming.

We are looking forward to seeing each and every one of you again and are excited to be holding our first in-person Signature Program on June 17th. We have also begun offering small-group and hybrid opportunities such as our CREW Connects that are available monthly at five locations across the metro-Atlanta area, committees are beginning to hold their monthly meetings in-person with call-in options available, and outdoor events such as our recent golf tournament and upcoming Sweet Auburn historic district tour are moving forward. We will continue to offer a mix of events so that people can join as they are comfortable and will follow the guidance of the CDC and local health officials as we move forward, but are thrilled to finally be coming together as a chapter again.

CREW Atlanta’s mission of influencing the success of the commercial real estate industry by advancing the achievements of women is at the forefront of every endeavor. We have made great progress with our strategic plan and want to share our direction with you. You can find a one-pager here that highlights how we are facilitating and celebrating our members’ success while creating a more diverse and equitable commercial real estate industry.

One of our most exciting endeavors for 2021 is the amazing work that is being done by our Diversity, Equity and Inclusion committee. Our recent Diversity, Equity & Inclusion in Real Estate workshop, led by Board Certified Coach and Diversity & Inclusion Consultant Joy Stephens, was a huge success. Keep an eye out for more ways to learn about DEI in CRE throughout the year.

We also want to make sure that you know of all the great opportunities CREW Atlanta offers and hope you have been enjoying CREWeekly. If you have not been on our website in a while, you should check out the fantastic resources, training and networking opportunities that are available, including CREWbiz.

Finally, all this incredible work could not happen without having a strong foundation from which to build our future leadership. The CREW Network Foundation provides funding to bring more women into commercial real estate with programs that educate women and girls about the career opportunities available to them through college scholarships, industry research and career outreach. Let’s keep making 2021 our year!

All the best,

Greer Gallagher
