A Letter from Our CREW Atlanta President

June 10, 2020

Dear CREW Atlanta Members,

As 2020 rang in, CREW Atlanta was poised for a year full of opportunities for our members to further transform the commercial real estate industry by advancing women through our unique combination of signature programs, relationship-building events and leadership opportunities. Well, 2020 has certainly been eventful … but it has brought its fair share of challenges. In the commercial real estate industry, we are all having to pivot to our “new normal” quickly in order to help other industries return to business.

I want to take a moment to thank the members of the CREW Atlanta board and committees for their creativity and enthusiasm in developing new virtual programming and networking opportunities for our members. We hope that you have found the new offerings to be a great resource in these unprecedented days.

The theme for CREW Atlanta leadership this year is “strength through strategy.” We started with a solid strategic plan for the year that we were excited to implement. We have come up with several strategic plans in the interim in response to world events to ensure we are continuing to provide value to our members. Over the coming weeks and months, we hope to move more of our programming to live events and are planning now for that transition as well as alternative plans, should they be necessary.

In keeping with our “strength through strategy” philosophy, the board has unanimously decided to extend the current year’s leadership team through June 30, 2021. This allows the current committees to plan through the winter and hopefully reschedule some of the much-anticipated programming through the end of this year and into early 2021. Likewise, we will ask the following group of board members and committee chairs to agree to an 18-month (July 1, 2021 through December 31, 2022) commitment rather than the typical 12-month term. After that, we plan to return to a one-year term following the calendar year. We feel this is the best way to ensure consistency for CREW Atlanta and benefit from the lessons learned and strategy developed over the last three months.

As CREW Network CEO Wendy Mann recently shared, we remain steadfast in our commitment to our mission of advancing women and promoting greater diversity, equity and inclusion in our industry. We appreciate your continued support and welcome any questions or suggestions that you may have.

Stay well and be kind to all,

Jodi Borges-Bradley
