"In the early 80s, I owned a business called Realty Recruiters, one of the first executive search companies specializing exclusively in commercial real estate in the United States. For that reason, I knew just about every woman in the field in metro Atlanta - all 24 of them!We were having a hard time getting a high heel in the door in this male dominated industry. Three of us got together and attended a meeting of another fledgling women's group, and decided we needed to start our own, exclusively for women in commercial real estate.By creating an advisory board comprised of top business leaders in commercial real estate, we were able to get the one on one response that had been impossible before. This worked out well and was the beginning of what is now such a powerful and well respected women's organization, appreciated by metro Atlanta men and women business leaders alike."
